Campus Ministry serves the spiritual needs of ÆÞÓÑÆƽâ°æ at ÆÞÓÑÆƽâ°æand welcomes all ÆÞÓÑÆƽâ°æ, regardless of background or beliefs.



We are a community of faith that journeys and grows together in the social, spiritual, intellectual, and vocational aspects of human life. Campus Ministry also oversees the STU Food Bank. This food pantry is open to all STU ÆÞÓÑÆƽâ°æ anonymously. Want to serve? Our Food Bank Student Committee supports the work of the Food Bank, and always welcomes new members. Email campusministry@stu.ca to join our committee.

Chapel Stained Glass

The Chapel is home to twelve stained glass windows, created by Napoleon Lyons between 1902 and 1942, and originally housed in the former St. James Anglican Church (Broad Street) in Saint John, NB. Following restoration by master stained-glass artist and conservator Ned Bowes, BA ’73, they were installed in 2022.

The Chapel's Altar Cross

 

Chapel Altar CrossThe Chapel's Altar Cross belonged originally to the Congregation of the Holy Cross, who built Holy Cross House to serve as a residence and minor seminary. The Holy Cross Fathers formed a significant part of the university's teaching faculty in the 1960s and 70s.

The cross interlocked with two anchors (ancient symbols of hope) represents the motto of the Congregation: Ave Crux, Spes Unica -- "Hail the Cross, Our Only Hope."

 

The Altar Cross was a gift from the Holy Cross Fathers to St. Thomas University.
